Foxford Woolen Mills Cafe and Foodhall

Foxford Woollen Mills is a place of historic interest.  This mill and visitor centre charts the progress of weaving in village of Foxford over centuries.  A visitor tour includes the viewing gallery overlooking  the working loom area downstairs, which gives a real insight into the practices of days gone by, along with a talk on the history of the mill.  Upstairs, a smart cafe and shop provides a place of refreshment, indulgence and of course, an insight into the operation of the other areas of the mill via photographs and artefacts. Kathleen Lally is Head Chef, and besides stocking the very appetising cafe buffet daily, she also makes a range of Foxford's own label artisan specialities for the shop.

The shop area has a fine display of Kathleen’s own homemade pestos, sauces, jams and chutneys. Her fresh breads and scones can also be ordered or bought here.   Find a good selection of Irish produce here as well to compliment the homemade range – sauces, chocolates and speciality goods as well as oils and mustards.  Hampers can be made to order, or you can choose from ready made up ones always available,  which make perfect gifts for those back home. Seasonal times of year like Christmas and Easter are celebrated with speciality hampters, cakes, pastries and other food items all beautifully packaged and ready to take home. Cakes and baking are available to order any time of year.

The adjoining cafe and shop are set in some of the old working rooms of the mill, including the Pattern Room, which is still intact. An atmospheric place to dine after browsing the food shop and lower floors of Foxford Mill items and home interior selection.
