Food & Drink

Breakfast, Sunday Brunch, Family Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Sunday Dinner, Late Supper and Snacks in between – On the Rocks, Freshly Squeezed, Pulled, Poured, Shaken but not Stirred.  Some of the highlights of your trip will be the food and drink enjoyed - all the more so because it is sourced and produced in a responsible way.

All of our listed Cafes, Restaurants, Farmers Markets, Bars and Pubs actively implement environmental policies that include good practice to minimise food waste and very importantly source local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Some go a step further and work with local groups and schools to encourage healthy eating and teach cooking skills.

Choosing green tastes so good! Wherever you go ask whoever is serving you food - where does it come from? In Ireland this is known as the "Just Ask" practice promoted by Bord Bia (Irish Food Board) to encourage customers to find out the provenance of the foods they eat and to encourage restaurants, etc, to use Irish provenance food and beverages.

Herbs are supplied from our own Kitchen garden.

Breakfast at Sheedys is a must!  Enjoy organic Apple juice, homemade organic fruit compots with Irish yogurt, Porridge with Irish Whiskey or Baileys, local Burren smoked salmon with organic eggs -  a fine way to start a morning.  Sheedys has won Best Breakfast in Munster.  All breads, jams and marmalade are made by John.

The Burren is great walking country and we can provide guests with walking sticks and maps of local walks.  A lot of our guests will head out after a home cooked breakfast, take a packed lunch with them and will be out all day walking on the Green Roads.  They can then relax over dinner and perhaps end the evening with a whiskey from our well stocked bar.  The Cliffs of Moher and Burren Geopark are just 10 minutes drive from Lisdoonvarna and boats go to the Aran Islands from Doolin each day during the Season.  Enjoy the beaches at Lahinch and Fanore – both very popular with surfers.  Lisdoonvarna is just 45 minutes drive from Shannon Airport.
