All of our listed Cafes, Restaurants, Farmers Markets, Bars and Pubs actively implement environmental policies that include good practice to minimise food waste and very importantly source local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Some go a step further and work with local groups and schools to encourage healthy eating and teach cooking skills.

In Ireland this is known as the "Just Ask" practice promoted by Bord Bia (Irish Food Board) to encourage customers to find out the provenance of the foods they eat and to encourage restaurants, etc, to use Irish provenance food and beverages.

Responsible Business practices at Park Inn by Radisson Shannon Airport
  • Recently Joined the Green Hospitality Programme in 2012- aiming for Silver initially but hopefully will carry out the necessary work to achieve a Higher standard.
  • Introduced a brand new waste management programme in 2010 – removing compactor from waste yard and replacing it with recycling programme. Full staff training implemented and guest encouragement.
  • Early 2011 replaced lighting throughout the hotel with class A efficiency- motion sensors in public toilets.
  • Currently installing water saving shower heads and flush timers.
  • All rooms are currently been updated with new water efficient shower heads, taps aerators.
  • Enthusiastic RB co-ordinators, James O’ Halloran and Lovepreet Gill and great support from GM and green team.
  • Planted trees at local primary school
  • Charity fundraisers for World Childhood Foundation and raised money for Milford Hospice & Marie Keating Foundation.
  • New responsible business programmes (leading for Managers and Living for all employees) training in RB
  • Provide on-site recycling for all our guests.
