THE HISTORY OF ARIEL HOUSE

If you look closely, you’ll realise that Ariel House is not in fact just one building, but is made up of three splendid Victorian townhouses, seamlessly joined and charmingly laid out. Our role is to keep them alive, vibrant, cared for and open for all to enjoy.

The main house was built back in 1850, during the reign of Queen Victoria, and was originally owned by a wealthy shipping merchant and his family. To this day, you can still see many Victorian features on display throughout our Dublin guesthouse, such as the beautiful bay windows, Flemish brick work, ornate stained glass and sash windows. Nowadays Ariel House has been sympathetically restored, offering modern amenities, but keeping the style and elegance of a time gone by.

Located next to the Aviva Stadium, in the leafy suburbs of Dublin’s Ballsbridge district, this beautiful Victorian house offers stylish bedrooms and a sumptuous breakfast menuRooms at the Ariel House Hotel combine 19th-century furniture with modern comforts including free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. The bathrooms feature a bath and invigorating power shower.

The Dining Room serves traditional and continental breakfasts, which feature homemade chutneys, banana bread and scones. Afternoon tea can be taken in the elegant Drawing Room.

The RDS and Herbert Park are both just a 5-minute walk from the Ariel. The Lansdowne Road DART and Train Station are both less than 500 m from the hotel.
